Pi Delta Phi (National French Honor Society)

Pi Delta Phi, established in 1906, is the French National Honor Society for undergraduate and graduate students at accredited public and private colleges and universities in the United States.

The purpose of the society is to recognize outstanding scholarship in the French language and its literatures, to increase the knowledge and appreciation of Americans for the cultural contributions of the French-speaking world, and to stimulate and to encourage French and francophone cultural activities.

American Association of Teachers of French

The American Association of Teachers of French is pleased to announce that Jean-Patrick Grillet is the recipient of a 2014 AATF Outstanding Senior in French Award. A student is nominated by his or her teacher on the basis of academic excellence and an exceptional commitment to the study of French. Commitment to the study of French may take the form of participation in French Club, study or travel abroad, enrollment in the National French Contest, membership in the National French Honor Society, or other academic or service activites. Recipients must have completed at least three years of French study at the time of graduation and be non-native speakers of French.

The AATF was founded in 1927 and is the largest national professional association of French teachers in the world with nearly 10,000 members. It has as its mission the promotion of the study of French language and French-speaking literatures and cultures at all levels.
